About Us

A health & culinary journey…

I remember falling in love with cooking while standing at the stove with my grandmother in her kitchen. She taught me her love for food & the joy in feeding your loved ones. And now I find great pleasure in helping others in the same way!

I graduated from the “Culinary Arts, Baking, and Pastry” program at the Scottsdale Community College in 2011. This gave me a structured foundation in culinary and baking concepts and trained me in techniques and theory. It was an intensive program and I learned a ton.

There were many overlapping themes between my helping Grandma and my formal training at the culinary school. But one of the most glaring was the complete disregard for how sugar and fats and meat centric diets affect our bodies. So my education continued. Cooking for health is about more than comfort foods and restaurant-like meals.

For over a decade I’ve been on a self-care pilgrimage and haven’t looked back. I have read endless health books; cooked thousands of meals for family and friends, catered weddings and parties, been a personal chef, and overall just explored how true health is a combination of things. What you put in your body matters more than ever, on every level. People are becoming more and more disconnected to their food and I want to help.

The farm girl inside…

My other passion is growing food. It gets me so excited! Every time I pull something out of the garden to use in a meal it feels so good. It’s like a super power to provide food for yourself and family. I’ve been dreaming about farming for years and when I learned about microgreens farming I knew immediately that this was my answer. Growing and learning about the nutrition of microgreens has been so much fun. I knew that I wanted to offer these little organic nutrient packed greens to everyone to help really enhance their nutrition intake and in such a delicious way.

My life is more connected and magical than it has ever been. I am a wife of 12 years and a mother to an amazing little girl. I run a microgreens farm that brings me so much joy. I have a passion for helping others learn how to cook healthy meals for themselves and their loved ones, how to read food labels, make healthy swaps in recipes, and how to cleanse their bodies. It’s a business that serves my community and makes me feel profoundly grateful each and every day. Thank you for being here with me.

Sincerely,

Chef Kalyn
